- Does Kavach need a phone to work?
- No. Kavach has its own 4G connection and GPS, with a SIM already fitted. It works completely independently. The companion app adds geofencing and history, but is not required for SOS alerts.
- How much does Kavach cost?
- The Kavach Band is ₹5,999 to own (early bird) or ₹249/day to rent at Kumbh Mela; a Family Pack of 4 bands is ₹14,999. The Kavach Watch, with two-way calling, is ₹9,999. The Kavach Pendant for children is coming, price to be announced. No payment required until launch.
- When does Kavach launch?
- Kavach launches at the Nashik Simhastha Kumbh Mela. We are not naming a date yet, because the date should follow the certification and the hardware rather than the other way round. Early registrations get priority, and registering costs nothing.
- How long does the battery last?
- Up to 24 hours on a charge. With GPS reporting every 10 minutes expect around 10 hours, and about 4 to 5 hours of continuous live tracking. It charges on a magnetic pad. This is a device you charge daily, the way you charge a phone.
- Is there a Kavach app?
- Yes. The Kavach Care app is free on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android. It shows the band's live location, replays route history, receives SOS, fall, band-removed and safe-zone alerts, and shares all of it with the family. The wearer never needs the app: the band works on its own 4G connection.
- Does SOS work without a subscription?
- Yes. The SOS button always works, even on the free Basic plan. Safety is never locked behind a paywall.
